Queensland Fire and Emergency Services were called to the scene at Flinders Way off Evans St in Sunset around 10am Friday August 23 to find the building fully alight.
At least three fire appliances attended the scene as did police, ambulance and council workers.
Ergon Energy were also called in as power was shutdown in the immediate vicinity.
It is not yet confirmed if anyone was inside the house at the time of the fire but an eyewitness said they saw two men walk away from the building shortly after the fire.
One neighbour said he was alerted to a problem when the power went out and another said he could smell burning.
More to come.
