'As You Like It' is a William Shakespeare's script set in a circus atmosphere, directed by local actor Jenelle Robartson.
Ms Robartson described the play as a fun and lively comedy.
"Don't let the fact that it is Shakespeare deter you, this is an exciting production with a large cast of 15 actors ranging from high schoolers to MITS veterans," she said.
"During the production the audience get to meet some really cool characters and follow along with the romantic tale. Everyone does happily ever after and it is great to see these people who travel along and meet everyone who live locally and their quirky attributes."
Ms Robartson said a lot of prep work had gone into the design of the production.
"We have some really cool costuming and set design," she said.
"There are some very big set designs that took us a long time to complete. I don't want to spoil it but when you see it you will understand the effort that went into creating it and even how it got on stage."
This is not the first Shakespearean play that Ms Robartson has directed.
"I direct a show at least once every couple of years and I've directed three Shakespeare productions to date," she said.
"Last time I did a very serious piece so this time I wanted to do something more lively and upbeat.
"Another reason I chose this play was because it is the only Shakespearean play with female leads. I thought it would be a good opportunity to show the talent that we have at the theatre but also do something that was a bit more feminine based."
Ms Robartson said the theatre had received positive reviews for previous Shakespeare productions.
"People have been very surprised at the caliber of acting and also their ability to follow and understand the scripts.
"Unfortunately some of us were made to study Shakespeare at school it can be a bit difficult, however it is a fun and interesting way to see a production done and I think that people who step out and come to it will enjoy it."
The show opened on August 23 and will run every Friday and Saturday night until September 14. Tickets are on sale for $40 (includes two course meal) at Impulse Boutique.
