The fencing work is budgeted at $35,000 and should take about two weeks to complete.
It will include new gates and will span the Railway Avenue and Fifth Avenue sides of the park.
The work is part of a staged plan of works for the park, including the future revamping of its toilets and the construction of additional shade structures.
After the Playway Park fencing is complete, the contractor will also construct a 1.2-metre-tall, powder-coated fence around Quota Club Park on Erap Street. That work is budgeted at $10,000 and is expected to begin on September 10.
The Quota Club Park is also getting new shade sails, sand soft fall at the base of the play equipment, and a new irrigation system.
