Mount Isa has ranked the fifth highest in Queensland sex ratios with 127.9 males to every 100 females, as stated in statistics released on August 29.
Mount Isa City Council mayor Joyce McCulloch was not surprised with the statistics.
"I guess because it is a mining community and mostly a male dominated industry," Cr McCulloch said.
"However we are not in the top three and I think that's due to working on equal opportunity in job placements especially in the mining industry."
Cr McCulloch said there was no issues with finding love in Mount Isa.
"I know there are a lot of professional woman in emergency services or teaching who came here for work, but while they are here have discovered their life long partner, so it has happened and will continue to happen."
Mount Isa is not the only place in North Queensland with high sex ratios.
Wacol a suburb of Ipswich placed first with 241 males per 100 females.
Tablelands placed second with 151.2, Broadsound, Nebo placed third with 134.3 and Glenlee, Rockyview in fourth with 132.2.
The lowest sex ratio was awarded to Millbank, Wide Bay with 85.1 males to 100 females.
Newtown, Toowoomba came in second with 86.5, followed by Chermside, North Brisbane with 86.9, Coombabah, Gold Coast with 87.0 and Buderim, North Sunshine Coast 87.3.
