The fuel station on the corner of Grace and Camooweal streets, owned by Caltex Australia, is allegedly closing due to not making money.
Two local staff who have worked at the business for a combined 50 years, will be made redundant after the closure.
Caltex spokesperson said it was considering options for future operation of the forecourt.
"Unfortunately this means there will be impacts to a small number of current employees of the existing franchise business," the spokesperson said.
"The site remains operational as we work through this process."
Caltex Australia has already begun removing signage from the property and will allegedly put a fence around the premises when it closes.
The tinting business also located on site will relocate, with the possibility of it returning to a mobile service.
The other Caltex Fuel Station on the corner of Miles and Grace streets, owned by EG Group, will remain open and unaffected.
According to local staff this facility is expected to undergo renovations early in 2020.
Staff predict the fence between the two fuel stations will be removed and rebrand as one Caltex Fuel Station, but is unconfirmed by both businesses.
