Firefighters and teachers combined to spray the water on the kids on the school oval in an event to raise funds to purchase a new playground for the school.
Barkly Hwy State School teacher Kim Hilton said the fundraising event was called splash and dash and was held on Wednesday September 11.
"Our P and C committee came together to think of fun ways to raise funds to be able to purchase a new playground," Ms Hilton said.
"We looked at doing the colour run but saw the splash and dash and thought that looked even better."
Ms Hilton said they will do the event again next year.
"It was a successful event and we all had a lot of fun."
