Festival passes are now available and as well as the centrepiece Dunny Derby, there will be appearances from country music artist, Adam Harvey, Olympic champion Sara Carrigan and celebrity chef Matt Golinski. There will also be the Outback Iron Juniors, bush tucker and camp oven cooking, a Monster Truck Show, evening concert series and a new evening laser installation down Winton's main street.
The welcome ceremony is on Tuesday, September 24 with the festival's official comperes, 4MK Breakfast Announcer 'Hammo' and Leon Mitchell - both celebrating their 10th Outback Festival attendance.
Day One will see the start of the week long Outback Strength challenges, wherein competitors will put not only their physical but also mental strength to the test with a series of gruelling events with a distinctly Outback twist. Battling it out over five days to be crowned the Outback Iron Man, Outback Iron Woman and Masters of The Outback respectively, this is not a challenge for the faint of heart.
The Little Swaggies events and Outback Iron Juniors challenge will also kick off on Day One and running throughout the week alongside the Whip Cracking Challenge, Wool Bale Rolling, Egg Throwing and Wobble Board Painting activities to keep the kids entertained and unleash their inner Outback champ.
Live entertainment will be taking place week long starting with the 'Outback Festival Spectacular Opening Event Concert' on Tuesday September 24 with Darren Coggan performing his tribute show to Glen Campbell.
The dunny derby takes place on the main street on Friday from 5pm and involves teams of five which pull and push a dunny through a 200m course, all competing for a $5,000 prize pool.
The Friday Night Concert Series on September 27 will see country singer-songwriter sister duo Innocent Eve and the 1 RAR Rock Band joined by Frankie H Holden and Wilbur Wilde. The Outback Thunda Concert Series on Saturday will close out the festival with The Chantoozies and Brad Butcher, the 2018 Golden Guitar Winner along with a massive Monster Truck show.
