This holiday program will focus on activities in the new PCYC Zone located on the corner of Able Smith Parade and George Street. Taking programs and activities to the heart of Pioneer to maximise levels of engagement with our young people.
Activities include disco, movie night, chilling in the zone and skate park event. These events are targeted at young people from prep to Year 12.
Acting Senior Constable Aimee Sewell said PCYC were excited to launch activities in the PCYC Zone a project that staff had been working on for approximately four months.
"We are excited to release the new holiday program and working with our young people in community," Acting Senior Constable Sewell said.
"We understand that engagement with this target audience is essential to assist with crime prevention and to develop rapport with our community.
"The programs will be supported by QPS staff and volunteers, police liaison officers, community groups and volunteers."
Activities in the Youth Zone will be broken down into three sections of engagement including a junior physical zone, senior physical zone and chill out zone.
Each section will be supervised and young people can engage in obstacle, interval training, skipping and much more.
