At the last Parliament I pushed the Government to "build" instead of "spend" its way out of Australia's economic slump.

I've had four meetings with the Treasurer and the Prime Minister's senior staffers.
Monetary policy is ineffective. Interest rates down from 3.5% to almost zero. Yet there's negligible movement in the macro statistics. Those in "reality land", most Australians are on struggle-street.
This is the historic moment for fiscal action, not to assess, not to process, not to accept the stagnation imposed by Queensland's worst ever leaders. Surely petrol security screams Hell's Gates - 7% of Australia's fuel, ethanol, clean and forever.
CopperString and Galilee Rail explodes employment and prosperity.
Treasurer, will you get the shovel and join our chain gang? So much depends on these projects proceeding, but none more than the CopperString transmission line connecting the Isa and four mid west towns to the national grid and provide relatively cheap, competitively priced power, rescuing three mining operations, and hopefully opening up three new mines.
The Rudd Gov agreed to a $320m grant for CopperString, the Gillard Gov agreed to a $320m grant, and the Abbott Gov agreed to a $320m grant. So I'm angry and frustrated when three separate governments gave a $320m "gift" and yet now we are having difficulty getting a $10m grant. These are not "gifts" or "grants". These are (tax) revenue creation investments.
Under Labor/Liberal both state and federal, there has not been a kilometre of developmental transmission line built in 33 years, nor has there been a kilometre of developmental railine, nor a major dam or irrigation weir built. Yet in the days of the much maligned Bjelke Petersen County/National Party, we were building 320km of railine every year for 20 years, 300km of developmental transmission line was commissioned in our last year of Govt, and a major irrigation dam, every year, for 20 years.
Hence my Facebook post 'chaining to a shovel' to start my own work on the Galilee Railine. It went viral (and I very much doubt it was attributable to my muscular physique??).
It will be owned by N Qlders for the benefit of N Qlders. It won't be owned by a" foreign company" and it will not open up just one "mine", it will open up all of the Galilee mines providing prosperity for our miners.
Wages will be pushed up so that miners will buy the 200 hectare irrigation farms being created in Hughenden, Cloncurry and the other mid-west towns. And we can become rich as well as enjoying a wonderful lifestyle.
It's not a matter of whether it "will happen", or whether it "can happen", we are determined that it "will happen".
