The care delivered to North-West Queensland's sick children is receiving a boost, with the Lott, through Golden Casket, donating vital equipment for sick babies to Mount Isa Hospital.

The Lott, through Golden Casket, has donated a $12,000 Phillips TC50 Cardiograph/ ECG machine to Mount Isa Hospital for their nursery, which is used to detect heart abnormalities.
The Mount Isa Hospital donation is part of a $100,000 donation the Lott has made to the Children's Hospital Foundation's Regional Hospitals Wishlist, funded from unclaimed prizemoney.
The Regional Hospitals Wishlist aims to improve the standard of care provided to sick children in Queensland by delivering vital equipment to hospitals throughout the state and reducing the need for families to travel to major cities for ongoing treatment and support.
Mount Isa Hospital Nurse Unit Manager, Donna Martin said the donation would mean the nursery would have exclusive use of the ECG machine, reducing the risk of contamination.
"The TC50 ECG machine is a device that has the ability to provide diagnostic information to practitioners regarding the baby's cardiac activity," Ms Martin said.
"Having our own ECG machine for the nursery enables quick performing of the test and decreases the infection risk that comes with borrowing a machine from other wards in the hospital.
"The Special Care Nursery Team are sincerely grateful for the generous donation from Golden Casket as the TC50 ECG machine will be of great benefit for the North West's littlest patients." The Lott's $100,000 donation, funded from unclaimed prize money, will supply a range of vital paediatric medical equipment to hospitals in Bundaberg, the Gold Coast, the Sunshine Coast, Gympie, Mount Isa, Rockhampton and Cairns.
