Police said an 18-year-old Mount Isa man was captured by the Mount Isa Road Policing Unit, driving at a speed of 173km per hour on the Barkly Highway, headed towards Cloncurry.
He received a Traffic Infringement Notice of $1245. He also received eight demerit points and an automatic six month licence suspension.
Meanwhile a 15-year-old Townview boy has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm.
At around 3.25am on Sunday, September 22, police it is alleged a boy assaulted a woman known to him.
The woman received a 2cm laceration to her nose, bruising and hematomas, requiring medical attention.
