Science brainiacs from Spinifex Senior College will soon be off to Brisbane to challenge their skills against other students.

The competition is the Wonder of Science Mount Isa Regional Conference which sees over 60 school students (Years 5 - 9) from five schools across the region present their results of scientific research projects conducted over the last four months.
Winning teams from the regional conference were invited to represent the region at the state conference in late November at Queensland University of Technology.
Dr Kaylene Butler programs officer for Wonder of Science said the competition was all about promoting STEM subjects.
"This is the second year we have run the conference in Mount Isa and the seventh year total," Ms Butler said.
Ms Butler said they saw students taking a massive interest into science subjects, but also see development of speaking skills with their presentations.
The state conference will be held in Brisbane showcasing students from all over Queensland.
