The speakers series will take place on Thursday October 17 at the Mount Isa Civic Centre Auditorium with afternoon canapes and networking to follow.
The event is part of the The Queensland Family and Child Commission and is free for all those who want to attend.
QFCC Principal Commissioner, Cheryl Vardon, said it was important to acknowledge that regional locations like Mount Isa who often don't have access to speakers, researchers and events of this nature.
"We know that living in a small town if you want to have access to the latest event, research or keynote speaker than you need to travel a fair distance to participate and that is exactly why we are bringing this event to Mount Isa," Ms Vardon said.
"Andrew will be delivering his presentation entitled Young People: From Surviving to Thriving to Mount Isa residents, policy and decision makers and community organisations.
"I hope that Mount Isa locals will take advantage of this free event, come along to hear from Andrew and also speak with the QFCC about other initiatives relevant to North Queensland."
The Regional Speakers Series is designed to bring respected speakers to the regions at no cost to local residents and community organisations.
