You could say it's felt like three years, but in a good way.
The amount of change that has taken place from my environment, personal development and outlook on life has been huge.
Already I have countless memories stacked up in my brain of funny moments, intense scenes and surreal meetings.
My vocabulary has transformed to include the local jargon that I have learnt, some may even say I sound a little different.
I'm especially excited to use the new dictionary on my friends and family once I return home for Christmas break.
Coming from the coastal city of Wollongong I am a city boy at heart.
I have lived in seven cities across the world, from London to Montreal all with busy crowds filled with hustle and bustle.
I love the excitement they have from untravelled roads to unseen faces.
I never thought I could live in a remote country town.
My neighbor told me before I left that living in country towns can get into your bloodstream, I finally understand what he was telling me.
It hasn't always been easy, I yern for the beach, strange new cafes and even an electronic beat in a nightclub.
But after hitting the three month mark I finally feel settled in.
I have a great group of friends, play cricket and basketball and have fallen in love with country music and rodeo.
Work has never been better, being able to go out and meet everyone to tell their story is such a privilege and is still something I cherish just as much as my first day.
I'm still learning the cultural differences between Mount Isa and the coast, and believe me there are many.
Certain things here don't seem a big deal whereas in the city it would.
You could also turn that sentence around and it would make exactly the same sense.
But its all part of the process and this journey we call life.
I have been a Journalist for three months now and I am extremely glad I took the plunge to work in the industry.
I am excited to see what Mount Isa and the future holds.
