Labor will look locally and globally for lessons on how to strengthen the party as it strives to reverse this year's election failure in 2022.

A national forum in December will discuss the party's future and policies to take to the 2022 federal election.
ALP national president Wayne Swan said the conference would help set a path to government.
"Winning power to put in place the building blocks of economic prosperity and environmental sustainability is what progressives must focus on," Mr Swan said in a note to Labor supporters and members.
"Our path to victory in 2022 relies on Labor's policy advocacy, design, and political campaigning."
The Towards 2022: Ideas for Labor and Australia conference would "explore ways to strengthen Australian Labor, looking locally and abroad for lessons and providing an opportunity to discuss and explore future challenges and opportunities."
The ALP's national executive is expected to discuss a review of Labor's 2019 election campaign in November, a few weeks before the December 7-8 conference.
Labor leader Anthony Albanese will also deliver the first of a series of agenda-setting speeches in Perth next week.
The speech is expected to focus on jobs and the future of work.
Meanwhile, Labor deputy leader Richard Marles has called for the party to change if it wants to be an effective opposition and alternative government.
"Part of that is resetting the reflex muscle that led us to believe that our fortunes were pegged to winning the daily (media) cycle, which ultimately proved to be a false economy," he wrote in The Australian newspaper.
"There is a stark difference between holding the government to account and simply seeking victory in the pursuit of a good headline."
Mr Marles said the federal election defeat was difficult for Labor and its supporters but insisted the party had dusted itself off and returned to parliament with "a renewed sense of energy and purpose".
Mr Albanese told the Nine Network on Thursday he was enjoying the leadership role.
"The truth is it's a tough job being the opposition leader, particularly coming in after a defeat where everyone expected us to be successful," Mr Albanese said.
Since becoming leader, Mr Albanese has withdrawn from Left faction meetings in a bid to represent the whole party as Labor leaders had done in the past.
