The Youth Zone continued to show this gallant community involvement at the Day for Daniel on Wednesday October 30.
Constable Aimee Sewell said Day for Daniel (Morcombe) was about educating young children about safety and the right to feel calm where ever they are.
"We have all our usual activities running today from boxing, table tennis, skipping and chill out zone where we educate the kids and spread the message about Day for Daniel," Constable Sewell said.
Constable Sewell said the Youth Zone has been highly successful in its early days with high participation rates.
"Youth zone has been running for about two months now and the amount of kids turning out has been unreal, we are averaging about 50 to 80 kids every night," she said.
Constable Sewell said they were really excited and had received great buy-in from the community and more volunteers were helping out each week.
"The YPA have been helping us out a great deal as well," she said.
