Hulk, Thor and Captain Marvel are among the teams taking the field at Almas St on Saturday evening.
It's all part of the first ever Mount Isa superhero sevens tournament to raise money for the Royal Flying Doctor Service.
Tournament organiser Kurt McGregor said this year's sevens format should attract more players.
"This time we have set up a draft so anyone can come down and find a team, especially if someone is from out of town," McGregor said.
"We have six teams total that are made up of Hulk, Spiderman, Iron Man, Wolverine, Thor and Captain Marvel."
McGregor said people didn't have to be registered union player for this weekend's games.
"The $50 is just a deposit for kit that you get back unless you want to keep your kit," he said.
"We also have plenty of businesses that are on board so there will be some great raffles on the night and spot prizes for best dressed superhero kid."
The first game kicks off at 5pm Saturday November 9 and there's a $500 prize for the overall winner.
The regular Mount Isa rugby union round has a bye due to the rugby sevens.
Entry is $5 for adults.
