The final matches of round one saw Euros take on Warrigals and Cloncurry play Keas on Friday, November 1.
The opening match had competition leaders Euros up against a hungry Warrigals line up.
The first half of the game the Dingoes came out fighting and opened the scoring with a try to Hunter Chong which was followed by a conversion from Craig Lansdowne.
Warrigals maintained their composure to stay in the lead but Euros came back fighting with a try to James George.
At half time the score was 14-7 to Warrigals who had their eyes on an upset.
But it was not meant to be.
Euros Secretary Theresa Whippy said the Euros came back in force scoring four consecutive tries in the second half to Kaitu Ioane, Josh Caldwell, Victor Malua and Scotty Perrin.
"The Warrigals were scoreless in the second half but still managed to put up a good fight," Whippy said.
Euros won the game 34 - 14.
The second match had Cloncurry continue their theme of playing until the final whistle when they clashed with Keas.
Cloncurry coach Novak Daniels said he found his side once again locked on 19-19 with only minutes left on the clock.
"It's become a habit I haven't enjoyed," Daniels said.
"19 seems to be our lucky number, but in reality it's good that our competition is at a consistent level and not just one team dominating it."
Cloncurry was indeed lucky when they crossed the line with just a minute left on the clock after taking advantage of a penalty.
That led to a converted try and the game ended 26-19 to Cloncurry.
"It was a hard fought game from the Keas, they were down on numbers and we had a full squad so a lot of credit must go to them, but in the end it was just our game," Daniels said.
Daniels singled out two players who had outstanding games.
"I thought prop forward Sunny Foster had a blinder for Keas and for us Sam Little found the right lines and just dominated in general."
This week's round will be a bye due to the superhero rugby sevens on Saturday. First game is at 5pm.
