Mount Isa Christian Outreach Centre are conducting selfless acts of kindness around town this week.
From Monday, the group have attended random houses around town and offered their assistance for the day.
The North West Star caught up with the group on Wednesday in Sunset where the group spent the day cutting down rain trees, de-cluttering and tidying a house yard for a couple in their 80s.
Organisers Amy and Carlo Kahui said the residents had lived in the house for over 40 years.
"Sadly with old age and warmer temperatures the garden had got away from them and had turned into a safety concern," Ms Kahui said.
"The trees were pushing on the house, clogging gutters, spreading to neighbouring properties and it was perfect conditions for snakes.
"We thought we would show them some love and take the burden away."
The Outreach Centre conduct random acts of kindness for more than 100 locals a year, but ramp up in the first week of November for National Others Week.
"We have been doing this for the last six years and it is nice to see that love and kindness go a long way," Ms Kahui said.
"We just look around town and find a yard or house that might need some maintenance and ask to help the owners, who are always grateful for the support."
Ms Kahui said it was very important to help others.
"When we get older we would like it for younger people to step up and assist where needed," she said.
"Something as simple as pruning their garden, brings them joy."
Ms Kahi said it was also great to have support from Mount Isa businesses including Grant's Cakes and Pies, Zambreros, Bunnings and Atlas.
"KC Concreting has donated their big tipper for a couple of days, Barkly Hire have given us the cherry picker, Glencore have provided a lot of safety equipment," she said
"The only issue we have faced is the cost of dump runs. We are half way through this one house and have already done six loads of rubbish to the tip at $30 a load."
The Church said it was discussing fees and charges with Council.
