The two-day event invites everyone from across the whole of the Mount Isa community to continue working together to create a place where everyone contributes, matters and belongs.
The free event is from 9am to 5pm on November 12 and 13 at the Entertainment Centre - Buchanan Park Events Complex Mount Isa.
The event builds on the knowledge gained and the actions developed from the 12 discussions we had throughout Queensland during round one of the Changing Lives, Changing Communities events.
QCOSS Senior Manager for Policy, Advocacy and Capacity Laura Barnes said she was enthusiastic to revisit communities and to continue the change in conversation and keep the momentum rolling.
"If you came to our forum last year, this is the opportunity to further progress the great connections and ideas that were developed. If you didn't come last year, this is your chance to be part of a conversation and action for change," Ms Barnes said.
"We know great ideas and great change happens when we gather people from across the whole community, which is why everyone is invited to come along and work alongside their neighbours and colleagues to make the Mount Isa community the best it can be," she said.
"We know an inclusive community benefits everyone. It is critical that we create Queensland communities that are fair and inclusive, with every person included socially and economically."
For 60 years, QCOSS has been a leading force for social change. They believe that every person in Queensland - regardless of where they come from, who they pray to, their gender, who they love, how or where they live - deserves to live a life of equality, opportunity and well-being.
