We arrived Friday afternoon and completed search before lunch Saturday. It was tough conditions walking many kilometres over mostly over sand and gravel.
But we broke it up into sections, kept well hydrated and did our walking mostly in the evening and morning.
We worked in pairs. One carrying a small knapsack, the other a pruner. We walked one side of the creek for a kilometre, cross to the other side, walk back.
Old track crossing - Mark and Chad found 24 small and finger size plants.
Long straight - Charles found one RV of seed pods collected and later burnt.
Track jump up / down - Jesse, Chad, Paul and Mark one each; Charles found a sandy gully with 73 small plants.
Up from the Gorge - Jesse cut and sprayed 14 plants.
The bend to the Gorge - Charles & Paul - 4 and 40 at the main patch with another large vine with 100 pods.
We are determined to maintain our vigilance on Gorge Creek.
A couple more years doing a twice annual sweep should finally clear the rubber vine at this site.
Thanks to Charles, Jessie, Paul, Chad and Greg for the big effort.
