Spinifex State College celebrated the success of their students at their annual Awards Night on Wednesday November 6 at the Mount Isa Civic Centre.

Principal, Phil Sweeney said, "Each year at our Awards Night we proudly showcase the outstanding achievements of our students."
During the evening the audience was entertained by the Spinifex State College school band and strings ensemble.
Special Award Recipients
Year 12 student, Cody Burnett was presented with the Hon Tony McGrady Senior Dux. Cody received recognition for excellence across all subject areas, along with receiving leadership and school service awards.
The winner of the Mount Isa Mines Junior Dux was Kathleen Farrelly, a Year 9 student with the best academic results throughout the year. Miss Farrelly also received five more awards in separate categories on the night.
Caltex Senior Best All Rounder went to Jack Muller in recognition for his excellent academic results and overall contribution as an ambassador for Spinifex State College.
Westpac Junior Best All Rounder was presented to Kyle Bartolo in recognition of his high academic results and commitment in all areas. Mr Bartolo is an all-round exceptional student.
The ADF Long Tan Leadership and Teamwork Awards presented by Lieutenant Joe DiLegge was given to year 10 student Katie Stuart-Russell and year 12 student Naomi Spitzner-Lewis.
James Cook University Academic Encouragement award was presented to Jenny David and Jade King. Presented by Professor Sabina Knight, Centre for Rural and Remote Health, JCU.
Naomi Spitzner-Lewis received the Diane Willis Memorial Bursary presented by Ms Louise King from Zonta.
QATSIF Young Indigenous Award was present to Serena Pigliarfiori.
Spinifex P&C NAPLAN Achievement Awards present by P&C President Kasey Griffin to Chelsea Stephens and Kathleen Farrelly.
Sportsperson of the Year awards went to Amarah Body and Keili Eggmolesse.
Residential student of the Year was presented to Taysharn Anderson.
Work Experience Student of the Year went to Lyall Davis and School Based Apprentice/Trainee of the year award went to Ashley Farlow.
