After landing the QF2468 flight from Townsville, the pilot noticed a hairline crack in the tread of one of the tyres on the aircraft when conducting normal checks between flights.
A Qantas spokesperson said the tyre hadn't burst but as a precaution it was replaced before the aircraft operated again which did lead to some delays.
"We know that flight delays can be inconvenient and we thank our customers for their patience, safety will always be our first priority."
This comes just seven weeks after a Qantas plane burst its tyre while landing in Cloncurry.
The burst tyre in Cloncurry was one of four explosions which led to a nation wide investigation into the problematic tyres.
A Qantas spokesperson said the investigation was still ongoing.
"We're still actively working with the manufacturers on this. We haven't had a similar incident since conducting the additional checks last month."
