Mount Isa was one of eight towns named in the quarter finals of a notorious Facebook page called Shit Towns of Australia, but has since exited the competition.
Mount Isa competed against Logan for a spot in the semi-finals, but lost in a 44 to 56 battle.
Facebook users shared their thoughts on the two towns matching up against each other.
"Having experienced both Logan for this win definitely," Melissa Trim said.
"It's way more shit than Mount Isa. Have lived in Isa for 15 years it has its moments of frustration for sure - but it's a bloody awesome place with friendly people and a great community who help each other out which is hard to find these days."
Scanlan Matthew said every crime ever committed happened in Logan every night on Queensland TV.
"Logan all the way! In saying that Mount Isa must have some serious pedigree to be so close in the running," Mr Matthew said.
Meanwhile there were others who believed Mount Isa was gypped of the win.
"This is rigged,"Michael Joyce said.
"The population of Logan is way higher! How can the degenerate Mount Isa miners ever come out on top when we don't have the people take the poll out! I think Mount Isa residents need to stand together and push this vote through. For our town."
Mitch Ell said those voting for Logan had never been to the Isa.
"At least you can leave Logan and be somewhere nice within the hour. When you leave Mount Isa, there is a whole heap of nothing for hours and hours," Mr Ell said.
Mez Peartree touched on the toxicity of both towns.
"Mount Isa is a hot shithole covered in a toxic cloud of industrial smog. Logan is a hot shithole covered in a toxic cloud of meth smoke the winner is crystal clear," Ms Peartree said.
Logan will continue on into the semi-final against Tennant Creek. Meanwhile the second semi final will include Dubbo and Mount Gambier.
The Shit Towns of Australia competition chooses its finalists by reviewing Australian towns, compiling weekly lists of the worst news stories from across the nation and publishing hate mail.
