The free event will kick off at 4.30pm at the Mount Isa Civic Centre with the screening of the animated family film Ferdinand at 5pm.
A second film - Aladdin - will be screened at 7.30pm followed by a spectacular fireworks display has also been planned for 10pm.
Mayor Joyce McCulloch invites the community to join the celebrations.
"We've organised a great night for all the family to welcome in the New Year," Cr McCulloch said.
"There are always plenty of adult events held at the city's numerous pubs and clubs, but we wanted to offer an event for families and those who wanted a more relaxed way to celebrate the New Year.
"We held this event for the first time last year and it received wonderful feedback, so we're delighted to host it again, this time at the Civic Centre, so people can enjoy the atmosphere of the Christmas Tree.
"Council's New Year's Eve program is a great option for families looking to celebrate the end of 2019."
The event will also include community food stalls, amusements, lucky door prizes, and a licensed bar.
