Cabinet meeting was good for Mount Isa
The dust has now settled on the visit to Mount Isa of the Premier, the Deputy Premier, and all the cabinet ministers as well as the Directors-General of all the government departments.

As the North West Star reported Tony McGrady requested the Premier to bring her Cabinet to Mount Isa and the North West and despite some of the "knockers" criticising the idea I know it brought positive benefits to Mount Isa and the whole of the North West.
I believe it was the correct decision.
There were some very positive decisions taken at that cabinet meeting, decisions which will do so much for the development of our area.
Our elected representatives could have joined in the positive spirit of the occasion but NO, they just went on the attack playing their own petty politics.
To those individuals and organisations who sought and secured meetings with the various ministers I hope you will receive favourable consideration as a result of your discussions.
I conclude by asking those critics of the decision to hold the meeting in Mount Isa why should every cabinet meeting be held in Brisbane?
Good on our Premier.
I believe we owe her a debt of gratitude for bringing government to the North West.

Need old-fashioned attitudes
We see a lot of climate activists chaining themselves to convince us that they have all the answers and hold the high ground on the debate about climate.
What I do not see, are actual practical demands from these people.
Instead of this annoying and unnecessary whinging, they have been absent on very important planet damaging practices.
For example, did you see the number of fridges, freezers, washing machines and lounges that have been put on the footpaths for the council collection?
The cheap, buy now and get a new one in 13mths attitude is all that is sold to us.
I can remember when a fridge would last 20 years, when a freezer lasted the same and a washing machine was around for years and years. Even fixing them was an option. But not today.
Cheap overseas fridges that cost under $1000 and when they compressor goes, you throw it away and someone in an electrical store will sell you another.
Do we see the Greenie's trying to make the word 'warranty', worth something?
Do we see them protesting at the landfill that is generated by these cheap appliances, not to mention the actual carbon cost of making the garbage in the first place?
NO, we do not. We do not see them protesting at the 5-minute fashion stores, that peddle clothes for under $10.
NO, even though a person in India or China may not even get a proper wage? No.
Have a look at any shopping mall, and see if you can find the Australian made items, in the hundreds of fashion, shoe and appliance stores in our country. Find some that will last 5 years? NO, too hard.
Out of sight is out of mind for these protesters who have little worth doing except contributing to the carbon footprint of the planet by buying Chinese made glue to glue some body part to something to, protest at the extinction of our planet.
None of this is about coal, farms, meat eating or fishing. It is about total socialistic ideals, that are hell bent on the destruction of our capitalist democracy.
Make solid white goods that last a decade, get off your phone, stop using your car, go back to candles, do not even think about getting meat from a laboratory, because apart from wrecking the planet, these things are enabling the perpetrators of this madness.
