The snow machine was one of the many great attractions that brought over a thousand people to pack out the Civic Centre lawns.
But there were several competing attractions.
First there was the five piece band Lah-Lah inside the Civic Centre.
If you've never heard of Lah-Lah, then you don't have an under five in your home.
The ABC Kids TV favourite soon had all the children on their feet dancing.
Afterwards it was outside to listen to Christmas Carols from the mass school choir conducted by Kate Hartley who also sang earlier with Khovy Inthavong
The Santa arrived on his Harley and helped Mayor Joyce McCulloch with the final event of the night - which was literally a highlight.
The Mount Isa Christmas tree was lit to gasps from all present - and led to plenty of selfies before Santa departed ahead of his December 25 return.
