Taking place the Rugby Union fields from 6pm, the night will be the final stop of the 'Go West' road trip along the Flinders Hwy
The night is split up into two separate initiatives which come together with the referees from 'Battlefields to Footy Fields' to officiate the League Tag community gala.
NRL Referee Development Officer North Queensland Michael Inman said Battlefields to Footy Fields was an opportunity for ex-defence servicemen and women to referee games.
"People like myself and Tim Bailey will assess them on the spot and give coaching then and there," he said.
"A lot defence force people struggle to find their feet once they return from service, so initiatives like this gives them a chance to get back into the community," Inman said.
Inman said the League Tag community gala was always a success.
"We stopped in Hughenden last night and drew a great crowd for a small town."
Inman was hoping for the same in Richmond tonight, Julia Creek Wednesday, Cloncurry on Thursday and Mount Isa on Friday.
"We want people to come down and have some fun and enjoy the experience," he said.
"We are opening it up for the public to come and try league tag which is a non contact version of the game.
"So the whole night ticks off some great criteria for not only the game but for the community and local stakeholders and apart from rugby union this time of the year there aren't really any footy games."
