This month, a number of officers from Mount Isa Police Station, along with others across the District, decided to combine forces and grow some legendary (and some not so legendary) moustaches, to raise awareness for Movember.

Movember is the annual campaign of the Movember Foundation where men and women across the globe register to raise awareness and funds for prostate cancer, testicular cancer and men's mental health.
There are many different ways which registered persons can go about fundraising, but the one that is definitely the more popular and oh so fetching, is the choice to don a delicious lip rug.
The officers who are now proud owners of new facial features are: Plain Clothes Constable Fraser Hutson, and senior constables Kyle Dennison, Stephen Gurnett and Matt Bowie, Constables Ross Lynch, Joseph Bicevskis, Simon Laing, Stephen Byrnes, Jake Nanninga, Matt Williams, Ben Crow and Aaron Baxter.
All funds raised throughout the month are donated to the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia, Beyond Blue and other men's health related programs and research.
The Mount Isa Police Team has raised $1,465 so far collectively, with some solid individual efforts both in raising money and the sprouting of a spectacular crumb catcher.
The team's effort also contributes to the QPS Movember team, which has raised $38,250 so far and consists of 528 members.
Mount Isa District Domestic and Family Violence Coordinator Sergeant Lisa Hillary set the boys a challenge early on - if they managed to collectively raise $1000, she would shave her head for the cause.
With the $1000 mark well and truly passed, she is now booked in at Capricorn Hair Studio next Tuesday December 3 at 8.30am for a new style.
Michelle Donald and her team at Capricorn will have such an enjoyable time freeing Sergeant Hillary of her locks and the boys of their facial hair. Feel free to come down and show your support!
The Movember Foundation does great work for men's health, so please donate to the Mount Isa Police Station team here.
There isn't much time left, December is nearly here!
