At about 8.30pm on Sunday November 24, it is alleged a man entered a property on Lake Mondarra Road and began siphoning fuel from a generator.
Local workers were alerted to the man, and it is alleged the man rushed at the first attending employee, holding a machete, allegedly holding it about four inches from the worker's chest. He then continued to fill his vehicle with fuel.
When a second worker arrived, the man allegedly made verbal threats to shoot them both with a shotgun. A verbal and physical altercation ensued, resulting in the man being restrained until police arrived.
A 29-year-old Burpengary East man has been charged with armed robbery and possess dangerous drugs.
He has been remanded in custody to appear in the Mount Isa Magistrates Court on January 22.
