An online auction selling excess equipment from the troubled copper mine near Cloncurry ends 7pm, Wednesday, December 4
Gray's Online is auctioning excess equipment on behalf of the receivers and managers of CuDeco Limited that was situated at the Rocklands Mine site.
Grays online spokesperson Andrew Cotton said they were under directions to auction 61 lots.
"We are realising these assets because they are not required for a reset of the mine when that happens," Mr Cotton said.
"The majority of the listing is vehicles, including four-wheel-drives, light trucks, buses and a crane. We also have some mine service equipment including lighting towers, generators, shipping containers, a demountable building and a conveyor stacker."
The highest priced items as of December 4 (2pm) was the Yutong Automatic Bus with a bid of $140,009 and the Conveyor Stacker with a bid of $31,009.
Mr Cotton said the auction had generated a lot of interest from national and international buyers.
"We find that when we do auctions around regional areas like Mount Isa and Cloncurry a lot of people like to get involved because it is in their neck of the woods, however we have are experiencing international interest as well," he said.
"The first item on the listing, the crane, it has received bids from Queensland, Victoria, Western Australia, Auckland and South Australia."
Mr Cotton said it was not uncommon to receive this type of interest.
"Grays is a national platform so people are more then confident to bid from anywhere in the country," he said.
The receivers and managers of CuDeco said "the funds raised will be used to support the maintenance of the mine site."
However Cloncurry Shire Council mayor Greg Campbell hoped the company would prioritise employees and businesses who were still out of pocket.
"Our requirement is if when they get money that the entitlements of the local staff and smaller local businesses were paid, then Council, Chinese investors or cooperate investors," Cr Campbell said.
"However there are going to be some locals who were investors what will have been burnt as well, so I really feel for them too, because they may not see a cent."
