Last time these two sides met the Warrigals took out Cloncurry on their home soil 24-17.
This time it what was a point scoring fiesta with the Warrigals winning 41-33 in the only game of the final round of the year.
The Warrigals backline had too much fancy footwork, scoring multiple long range tries to keep Cloncurry chasing the game.
Cloncurry forward Eric Barker said his side was missing a few key players which proved to play a major factor in their loss.
"We had a few players out and had to borrow some from the Keas who had their game forfeited," Barker said.
Barker said although losing, there were some positives to away from the match.
"It was really encouraging to see our forwards play well as a pack and put some of the drills we have worked on into practice.
"We had some new guys who didn't know the game that well at the start but they are really starting to pick it up now.
"We actually dominated the possession, which was really encouraging."
Cloncurry's Huw Wright showed really good leadership from inside centre and flyhalf with a lot of hard runs and good chat who was rewarded with a try.
The same went for Tim McClymont, who made a big difference in the forwards coming over from Keas.
Barker said looking back at this year his side has performed really well.
"We are exceeding expectations this year after a tough couple of years," Barker said.
When questioned on title contention, Barker remained upbeat.
"You never know who is going to turn up in finals in Mount Isa Rugby, it is literally anyone's at the moment."
The competition now takes a long break for the Christmas holidays and does not return until February 1, 2020.
