Toys from Kmart wishing tree, HOGs toy run as well as others were donated to the Salvation Army hall as part of their annual toy collection initiative.
Salvation Army core officer Natalie Steele said this year they made a change where the parent or care giver can come and pick out the toy of their choice.
"In previous years all the presents were wrapped but we decided it would be better for someone to chose the present," Ms Steele said.
Salvation Army administration officer May Batts said this year people have been more generous than ever.
"We have even more than last year and last year was over 700 toys," Ms Batts said.
"It's about as many children getting a gift as possible."
Ms Steele said It was important to not just be thinking about ourselves during Christmas but our community as well.
"There are people out there that are much less fortunate than us," Ms Steele said.
"People really enjoying giving, it makes people feel good, it's good for the heart.
"We just ask they bring a Centrelink card, Medicare card or some proof of I.D," she said.
