At around 12am on Monday January 6, it is alleged two women had been consuming alcohol prior to entering an immobilised Ford Falcon at a Milne Bay Road address.
The women drove the vehicle from the address along the Barkly Highway to a nearby service station before returning to the original address.
It is alleged that upon their return, the passenger exited the vehicle to open the driveway gate and the driver drove at speed into the yard, nearly striking a person.
When others came to the aid of this person, the driver began to continually rev the engine in an aggressive manner.
It is alleged a person has then punched the driver in the face and removed the keys from the ignition.
Upon police arrival, it is alleged the woman exited the vehicle and began to walk toward the dwelling.
The driver provided a positive roadside breath test reading. A subsequent analysis recorded a reading of 0.200 per cent BAC.
A 40-year-old Soldiers Hill woman has been charged with one count each of dangerous operation of a vehicle and adversely affected by an intoxicating substance, drive UIL, tampering with or removing immobilising device or notice, drive disqualified, drive unregistered vehicle, drive uninsured vehicle and animal cruelty.
