Competing at Smithton Rodeo in North West Tasmania, Brandee Ferguson had a string of success and claimed the High Point Cowgirl of the event.
Brandee had two extraordinary runs on her horse Raven to win both rounds of the junior barrel race, with 15.551 seconds in round one and 15.586 in round two to win the aggregate. This was almost two seconds faster than second placed Codie Lewis.
Earlier in the event, Brandee was unable to get a score in the first round of the team roping but she made amends picking up second place in both rounds and the average in the breakaway roping competition.
These successes saw Brandee take out the Smithton Rodeo High Point Junior Cowgirl Champion, just ahead of great mate and defending Champion, Denvah Mills.
Smithton Rodeo Facebook page described Brandee as a "Cloncurry Rodeo Royalty and she just keeps getting better and better at each outing."
This was Brandee's final year competing as a junior rodeo competitor.
She attended Smithton Rodeo with her Mum Kylee, her Dad Colin and her two brothers Kolt and Cade and their horses.
2019 saw Brandee represent her country in the Trans-Tasman Series and Youth Rodeo Association Finals in USA, won the Junior Barrel Race title at the Mount Isa Mines Rodeo as well as plenty of other titles throughout the season.
