The opening event is a pool party at Splashez Aquatic Centre from 10.30am to 2.30pm, Sunday January 26. with the event free of charge.
The pool party will include free hot dogs, fun games, prizes, music, and lots of family fun. The Splashez cafe will also be open.
Mayor Joyce McCulloch said after the success and positive feedback of last year's Australia Day pool party it was an easy decision to host it again this year.
"It's the perfect location for Australia Day in Mount Isa, whether you're a swimmer or not, there is plenty of lovely shaded picnic areas, and it's enjoyable for people of all ages," Cr McCulloch said.
There will also be a Rubber-Duck Race to aid the Bushfire Relief Appeal.
Council will be working with local Queensland Fire and Emergency Services and Rural Fire Brigade branch to host the rubber duck fundraiser, with all donations collected by the Mount Isa branch of the Salvation Army.
The rubber-duck race will be held during the Australia Day Pool Party (10.30am - 2.30pm), with each duck available to be sponsored by a $5 donation.
The final event will be the Mount Isa Australia Day Awards and Citizenship Ceremony at 5pm at the Civic Centre.
"We would love to see everyone come along and celebrate Australia Day with us at the Civic Centre for the Australia Day Awards presentation and Citizenship Ceremony in the afternoon, with a special performance by the youth choir, and light refreshments provided." Cr McCulloch said.
