Cloncurry police have detained a 34-year-old Cloncurry man on Saturday January 11 under the Migration Act, after he was determined to be an unlawful non-citizen.
Police have taken to social media to announce the man is now in the custody of Australia Border Force at an immigration detention facility in Brisbane.
"He is likely to face deportation to his homeland following a review of his immigration status," the post said on the myPolice Cloncurry Facebook page.
"A person may become an unlawful non-citizen if they arrive without a valid visa or their visa was cancelled or has expired."
Any information regarding unlawful non-citizens should be directed to Australian Border Force.
