The Healthy Family Yarnings initiative was launched on November 25 during the 16 Days of Activism and subsequently the horse statue on Marian Street was covered in a colourful display of yarn.
Save the Children regional manager, Ankur Verma, said the yarn bombing had a dual message.
"Meaning both knitting and weaving but also yarning about domestic and family violence and what makes a healthy family," Mr Verma said.
"It also has an attractive point for the community to see what this initiative is about and get a conversation happening about healthy relationships, what a healthy family looks like and what services are available."
Mr Verma said more yarn bombing was expected to continue leading up to domestic violence prevention month (May).
"The overarching yarn bomb in 2020 will be the newly installed Isa Street Bridge, that will be a huge conversation place in the community," he said.
"Keep an eye out for what is coming in May 2020, there will be a series of public, sector and community events and these bombing are to get people excited and intrigued for what is coming."
Mr Verma said this initiative came out from a DV action group which was a partnered approach with Mount Isa City Council, Mount Isa Tourism Association and other relevant stakeholders.
"The yarn talking resources are all centered around creating safety in families, it's about encouraging families to reflect on what keeps them healthy in their relationships, bodies and social networks," he said.
"The biggest part is to ensure that we collaborate at a sector level with services and collaborate to strengthen this initiative, and deliver some key messaging to local families."
