The passing of a surface trough has allowed unstable conditions to cross the region with Bureau of Meteorology recording 7mm in Mount Isa.
Other parts of the North West received heavier falls including Cloncurry recording 18.4mm, Urandangi 16.8mm, New May Downs 15mmHughenden 13.8mm and Century Mine recording 11.8mm.
Smaller falls fell in Julia Creek 5.8mm, Normanton 5.4mm, Burketown 3.6mm, Winton 3.6mm, Lake Julius 3.4mm, Richmond 1.2mm and Mornington Island 0.6mm.
Showers are expected to continue for the rest of the week.
Thursday January 23 is expected to be partly cloudy with a medium (60 per cent) chance of rain and reaching a top of 36 degrees.
Friday is predicted to be partly cloudy with a high (80 per cent) chance of up to 25mm and reaching a top temperature of 32 degrees.
Over the weekend Saturday and Sunday are predicted to have cloudy conditions with a high (70 per cent) chance of up to 30mm each day, and a top of 31 degrees.
Monday is also predicted to be cloudy with a medium (60 per cent ) chance of up to 30mm and reaching a top of 21 degrees
Tuesday is expected to be partly cloudy with a medium (40 per cent) chance of up to 20mm and a top temperature of 33 degrees.
Mount Isa Water Board have not updated their water levels since Tuesday January 21: Lake Moondarra 45.1 per cent, Lake Julius 72.6mm.
