Flash flooding has occurred between Prairie and Torrens Creek, resulting in the closure of the Flinders Highway in that area.
"Stay safe this Australia Day, and remember; if it's flooded, forget it," a spokesperson for McKinlay Shire Council said.
During the wet season, road conditions can change at any time, without notice.
