Jimboomba's Toothkind dental practice is welcoming in the new year with some new faces and new facilities as part of its efforts to continue bringing a high level of care to its patients in a relaxed, welcoming environment.

Over the past months the practice has added a third treatment room, expanding its patient capacity, as well as installing a new large x-ray machine.

Still to come is the installation of a new sterilisation room featuring some of the latest equipment available that's part of Toothkind's commitment to providing the best in patient care standards.

The practice has also welcomed dentist Dr Marc Malek to the Toothkind family.

Dr Malek developed his passion for dentistry at a young age, influenced by his long family history of health professionals.

He graduated from Griffith University with a Bachelor of Oral Health in Dental Science and a Graduate Diploma of Dentistry.

A strong believer in effective communication, Dr Malek places great importance on developing good relationships with each of his patients so he can provide the best dental care and experience possible.

"I really focus on creating a friendly patient-focused environment to support my patients and help reduce any dental anxiety they might be feeling," he said.

When he's not in his dental scrubs and looking after his patients, Dr Malek enjoys spending time with his family and serving his local church. He's recently returned from his honeymoon and is enjoying newlywed life.

Supporting the dentists are two new dental assistants - Isabelle Poros and Tanya Kearns.

Tanya joins Toothkind after a ten year break from dental assisting raising her family, while Isabelle is a determined school leaver who did work experience at the practice during her Year 12 and has continued on.

With the new additions on board, Toothkind is looking forward to assisting even more customers with their dental health this year.

The dentist team - Dr Malek as well as familiar faces, Dr Mervyn Buys and Dr Jess Waller - provide appointments between 7am and 8pm as well as on Saturday to deliver the most convenient service possible.

The practice offers the full range of dental procedures including general dental, preventative dental, root canal treatments, crown and bridge, mouthguards, teeth whitening and minor oral surgery as well as emergency appointments, orthodontics and implants.

Dr Jess has a special interest in orthodontics which includes fixed braces and Myobrace.

"Young or old, there is no age limit to improve your smile's function and aesthetics," she said.

As well, Dr James Fox regularly visits Toothkind for any tooth implant work needed. Complimentary consultations for problems such as missing teeth are available.

For questions relating to dental care the rest of the support staff are also ready to answer any queries you might have.

The friendly team includes business manager Mel Carter, practice manager Rosi Andersen, Natalie Lidgard, Zoe Valintine and Sarah Green, and of course Tanya and Isabelle.

"Our philosophy is that our patients come first; their health and care is our utmost priority," said Mel. "Our focus is on great customer service and ensuring our team provide this to our patients at all times in our kind and professional Toothkind way."
