Around 250,000 Australians are currently diagnosed with epilepsy, and approximately 3.5% of the Australian population will experience this neurological disorder at some point in their lifetime.

Knowing how to help someone having a seizure can literally save a person's life.

Seizure First Aid - Key Steps

Stay with the person

Keep them safe, removing anything that could hurt them

Don't try to restrain them

Don't put anything in their mouth

Roll them onto their side once jerking/shaking subsides

Reassure them until they have recovered

Call an ambulance if the seizure lasts longer than five minutes.

Now that the dust has settled after the Old Fashioned Family Picnic held on 30th November last year Mates Mens Shed Inc would like to sincerely thank the public, business community, community, service organisations, entertainers and valued event support team that made the event a success on the evening enjoyed by all families in attendance.

Major community events like these only happen with a dedicated group of people, organizations who generously give their time and resources for the community.

Also with out major sponsors the event could not possibility be held.

Our sincere appreciation and gratitude to Communities for Children, Centacare North Queensland as funding sponsors, Woolworth's and Mount Isa Irish Club for use of the Irish club Tony White Oval.

One of the highlights of the picnic was the free give away prizes kindly and generously donated by over 50 local businesses to families of Mount Isa at Christmas.

As organisers we are very appreciative of these donations.

Due to the concept and success of the Community Old Fashion Family Fun Picnic subject to successful funding the Event shall be staged in 2020 but brought forward a few months to avoid wet season and clashing with Community major events.

There are claims being bandied about that Scott Morrison has given Adani $4-billion, but only $2-billion to bushfire funds. There are other claims that he has taken $4-billion out of the National Disability and Insurance Scheme.

The problem here is that Scott Morrison has not even commented on these claims, let alone denied them. One hopes that this does not spring from his Christian reverence for truth.

So, are these claims true? If so, then will Clive Palmer and Gina Rinehart also be given $4-billion each? They want to develop coal mines in the Galilee Basin too, right next to Adani's mine. I

t would be quite unreasonable to let rich foreigners have $4-billion from the taxpayer but not rich Australians.
