Eloise Copper Mine has recommenced underground operations after safety concerns saw the mine close.
The announcement was made on the Mining Queensland Facebook page, which said the mine had "undertaken work to ensure that the risk of an air blast in the underground operations is within acceptable limits and as low as reasonable achievable."
"Based on the work undertaken, the inspectorate has lifted the directive preventing the mine from undertaking normal underground operations and the mine is now open and operational."
Eloise is privately owned by FMR Investments and was first discovered by BHP in 1987.
In 2004 Barminco Pty (now FMR Investments Pty Ltd) purchased the mine from Breakaway Resources and operated the mine and mill until it was placed under a care and maintenance program in November 2008 owing to the fall in commodity prices.
Mining operation recommenced early 2011.
