On January 28, Cloncurry recorded the biggest fall overnight recording 102mm, while Mount Isa received only 29mm.
In other parts of the region Julia Creek recorded 47.2mm, Richmond 30.8mm, Lake Julius 50mm and May Downs 19mm.
As we hear the rain on our roof, showers are expected to continue today (Wednesday January 29) but pass into the Northern Territory by this evening.
For the remainder of the week, we can expect to see less showers with Thursday predicting a 70 per cent chance of up to 10mm and reaching a top of 32 degrees.
Friday forecasts a 60 per cent chance of up to 6mm and reaching a top of 3 degrees.
Over the weekend, Saturday predicts a 50 per cent chance of up to 5mm and Sunday a 40 per cent chance of up to 1mm and a maximum temperature of 35 degrees.
The wide spread rain water continues to refill local dams, as of Tuesday January 28 Lake Moondarra was sitting at 72.1 per cent and Lake Julius at 94.9 per cent.
The Leichhardt River has risen cutting off all low lying bridges in Mount Isa except Isa Street and Grace Street bridges.
The Flinders Highway has also closed this morning between Cloncurry and Julia Creek due to flooding.

Around Mount Isa:
- Gunpowder road is closed in all directions.
- Lake Julius road is closed to all traffic in both directions.
- The Mount Isa to Duchess Boundary Grid is open with caution but restricted to four wheel drive vehicles only.
- Mount Isa/ Duchess Road is closed to all traffic at Willis River.
- Mount Isa to Boulia Road has water in low lying areas and is open with caution.
Cloncurry:
- Flinders Highway between Cloncurry and Julia Creek is closed.
- Cloncurry to Duchess road is closed due to flooded river crossings.
- Hensley Drive is closed.
- Sedan Dip Road is open with caution, wet gravel roads with possible low level flooding.
- Granada Road is restricted to four-wheel-drives.
- Cloncurry to McKinlay is closed to all traffic, flooding at Bull Creek and McKinlay River.
- Link Road Crossing is closed to all traffic.
In the Gulf:
- Doomadgee to Hells Gate and Hells Gate to the Northern Territory border is closed to all traffic in both directions.
- From Camooweal to Herbertvale Station is closed to all traffic.
- Camooweal to Lawn Hill and the Gregory is closed to all traffic.
Boulia:
- Boulia to the Qld border (Donohue Highway) is closed.
- Coorabulka Road is closed.
- Springvale Road - four-wheel drives only, closed to roadtrains.
Winton:
- Winton to Longreach is closed.
- Winton to McKinlay is closed.
- Winton to Middleton is closed.
- Winton to Opalton is closed
- Winton to Hughenden is closed.
- Winton to Corfield is closed.
Richmond:
- Richmond to Corfield is restricted to four-wheel-drives only.
- Richmond to Hughenden has been reopened.
Hughenden:
- Hughenden to Winton is closed.
- Hughenden to Torrens Creek is closed.
- Kennedy Developmental Road is closed.
- Torver Valley Road is closed.
- Prairie Muttaburra Road is closed.
- Hughenden to Muttaburra is open to four-wheel-drives only.
