The Mount Isa Golf Club held its end of summer competition finals in conjunction with an 18 stableford on Saturday February 8 with 34 golfers playing.

The winner of the Mark Thinee sponsored shield was Wayne Blackman on 37 points closely followed by Kel Burnham on 36 points.
The ball rundown went to Peter Gilmore, Tom Nankivell, Richard Bawden, Remia Rajas, Peter Armstrong, Jaimie Stewart, Margie McDonald, Hira White, Aurretta Perin and Judy Fangrath.
The winner of the 18 hole stableford was Mick Fraser 39 points with the up and coming junior Riley Stewart on 38 points.
Nearest to pins were Mark Belamy on hole five, Garry Ferguson on hole eight, Riley Stewart on hole 10, Mitch McDonald on hole 11 and Brian Atherinos on hole 14.
This Saturday February 15, will be the first week of the Craig and Nikus Mills sponsored cup, with the front nine holes played as a stable ford and the back nine holes as a par +/- competition. This will be followed by the next Saturday February 22 as a 18 hole stroke event.
Members are reminded to place their name down on the starting time sheet before Saturday's game.
With all the rain we have had lately the course has never been in better condition, so a reminder to anybody wanting to play in a great social competition come out to the course on Sunday mornings for a 9am shot gun start, this is teams event so bring your own team or we can place you into a team on the day.
Cost is $5 for members and $10 for social players, this includes a light home cook lunch.
