During the off-season MIRL have restructured the competition, upgraded the grounds and resurfaced all of the playing fields.
Representative coordinator Nigel Tremain said there was a steep decline in participation affecting the under 17's and under 15's boy's competition so they needed a change.
"We decided to change the games to Friday night for both boys and girls," Tremain said.
"Friday night games is a crucial part of the rebuilding of the older age group."
Another new junior initiative will be Mount Isa Country vs Mount Isa City which involves the under 15 and 17 boys.
Tremain said they aimed on selecting even sides each week to increase the standard and enjoyment for all.
"Through generous sponsorship from AERCO and Maintenance Technique the player group will be decked out in impressive new playing kits with a new identity," Tremain said.
"Mount Isa Rugby League encourage the community to really get behind our youth by coming down to support the six game series. We want good energy and atmosphere all while enjoying local and NRL games."
Tremain said the final part of the restructuring had the remainder of the juniors moving from Sunday to Saturday afternoon.
"Obviously there are going to be challenges but we ask for patience as these issues are resolved," he said.
"The freeing up of Sunday and gives our volunteers the ability to spend quality family time, while a proposal for all juniors to move to Friday not gaining full support.
"The submission for funding by MIRL for further upgrades could also see this a reality one day."
