Winning the toss and self inserting the Black Stars started steady, not giving away too many chances until Scott Kyle took a risk and was the first to go for 23 and the score 1-40 off six.
Panthers bowler Blaine McCormack was rewarded for some tidy bowling when number three batsman Alex Bateman (1) snicked off early to second slip only for it to be caught off a deflection by Green at first slip.
Consistent Trent Cameron (53) then put his head down along side Nadesh (21) until both were removed with scores at 4-120 after 20 overs.
Hill (51) and Giles (71) then led a strong fight back with Giles being dropped on single digits and making the Panthers pay.
The Black Stars finished their total on 8-269 with spinners Green 2-31 off eight and Bailey 3-47 off seven the pick of the bowlers.

The Panthers got off to the worst possible start losing wickets at regular intervals thanks to some handy bowling from wicket keeper Hill 2-23 off eight and young pace bowler Barton 2-7 off six.
The game looked more than finished when the score got to 6-63 in the 17th over and still 207 runs needed.
But number eight batsman Tom Wilsdon had other ideas and swung his blade in hope for a miracle. Wilsdon went on to hit an incredible 105 off just 46 balls alongside a very handy cameo from McCormack (36 not out).
Wilsdon said he hoped his captain was watching.
"I was pretty annoyed to be batting at eight at the start of the game, I'm too deadly to be batting so low but at least now after that innings surely skip has to get me up the order but who knows with Benny," Wilsdon said.
However the miracle comeback was not meant to be and the Panthers fell short by just 18 runs ending their total on 7-251.
The other match saw the Cavaliers forfeit against the Bulls due too lack of numbers.
This week has Panthers against the Cavaliers at Sunset while the Black Stars play the Bulls at Captain Cook.
