A man has been charged after a knife attack in Mount Isa last weekend.

At about 8pm on Sunday, February 16, it is alleged a man and woman who are known to each other had been arguing at a Nineteenth Avenue address.
It is further alleged the man has retrieved a knife from the kitchen, grabbed the woman by the hair and struck at the back of her head with the knife.
The man left the address immediately to seek assistance.
The woman sustained a laceration to the back of her head and required sutures.
A 43-year-old Winston man has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm.
He has been remanded in custody to appear in Mount Isa Magistrates Court on February 27.
