Mount Isa Race Club president, Mick Tully, said this was a perfect family day out to enjoy the races.
"The beach day welcomes everyone back to the track to start up our racing season," Mr Tully said.
"Last year's beach races was massive so we are hoping to get a good turn out again this year.
"We also have the opening of our new members area, which will be available to the public for this weekend only."
There is also a Dash for Cash race with first place prize money of $200, second place $100 and third place $50.
