Police will allege the boy stood at the entrance to the store, holding the bat behind his back and called out to an employee to give him money.
When the employee refused, the boy allegedly displayed the bat and repeated his demand.
The boy fled when a second employee appeared.
A 10-year-old Healy boy has been charged with attempted armed robbery and will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act 1992.
